Gather important documents

Many scholarship applications will ask you for academic records, financial information, and other details about yourself. Try to gather these materials well in advance, as documents such as transcripts and test results can take a few weeks to arrive.

Type the information on the form. Typing the information on the form is better as it will be more legible than a handwritten one. Many scholarship forms are available online in PDF version, so typing your information on these forms is simple. Some of these may only be available in a physical copy.

• Writing the form by hand is fine if you don't have access to a typewriter. Make sure to write in black or blue ink carefully. If your writing is messy, ask someone else to fill out the form for you.
